SVPF Origin
and Mission St.Vincent De Paul (1581-1660) is the Patron Saint of Charitable Work. He founded the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity, which for over 3 centuries, continue to
inspire men and women who dedicate their lives in serving God by caring for people especially the poor and
abandoned in various Missions throughout the world. In the Philippines, the same mission
is carried out by Vincentian Fathers and Brothers of the Congregation of the
Mission together with the Daughters of Charity, Ladies of Charity, Children of
Mary, Society of St.Vincent and other allied organizations working together for
the spiritual, educational, health, livelihood and other aspirations of
Filipino generations. In addition, Philippine Vincentians have been continually
asked to serve in other countries in Asia, Africa, and other regions worldwide.
The Vincentians have a distinguished
tradition in this mission. It is for this purpose that the St.Vincent De Paul
Foundation was set up in 1980 to help support the continuous formation and
training of our seminarians and future Priests.
